About DroneZone

DroneZone was established to address the growing need for uncontested and safe airspace for both UAV/UAS/RPAS manufacturers and operators alike to be able to fly airframes, and exhibit their engineered solutions to target audiences, or to demonstrate data aggregation techniques.

The safe handling of airspace remains a priority, and for that reason alone, it is essential that those pioneers who shape the market can meet with those who govern it, to ensure the commercial realisation is not smothered by regulation, but serves to support it and at the same time keep the skies safe – equitable use of the skies has never been so relevant.

Statistically, human error remains the lead component in flight risk and resulting accidents, so with the considerable increase in drones that take to the skies daily when measured against the general aviation (GA) market – and that is rain or shine – safety has never been more topical in both air and ground collision avoidance, but also the pilots who fly them.

General Aviation pilots are measured in low tens of thousands in the UK and falling, whilst drone pilots are measured in the hundreds of thousands and rising, the challenge is clear, and the market needs to react to it and ensure the safety of the Public whilst delivering benefits to each weight class.

With the aid of both exhibitor and visitor feedback, we plan to shape the event to include other UAV/UAS/RPAS interest, such as methods of controlled drone identification as a platform, but also its pilot, counter-measures, flying at night, SAR whether over water or on land, large asset or open land protection whether wild-life or adventurous humans and so on, making your participative involvement more important than ever and rewarded by a future event that embraces your vision and ideas.

Each exhibitor will have the opportunity to fly for twenty minutes and book up to three flying slots over three days, recognising that the days are split into categories of focused-interest groups of Academia, Government & Professionals, or Trade, Industry and Commerce including logistics.

As the event approaches, a DroneZone App will be launched to allow exhibitors and visitors to receive messages of flight demonstrations before they occur, to ensure the specific presentation or flight demonstration is not inadvertently missed.
